Here's a fun update on Bill & Ted Face The Music: Anthony Carrigan, the breakout star of HBO's Barry, will be playing the "relentless adversary" to Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter's titular duo.
We don't know much more about the character beyond his villainy, but he'll be joining a cast which already includes franchise veteran William Sadler, newcomers Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine, and Scott "Kid Cudi" Mescudi.
THR broke the story, and has a decent plot synopsis in case you haven't been keeping up with this one:
"The new story, according to the production, once again centers on the affable best-friends, now middle-aged and still yet to fulfill their rock and roll destiny. When a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can safe life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe, the pair set out on a new adventure, helped along by their daughters, old friends, a new batch of historical figures, and a few music legends."
It feels to me like Barry still hasn't quite caught on with the masses, but you're likely to see fans of that series getting very, very excited about the above news. Carrigan's NoHo Hank is one of the best characters on television, and it's exciting to imagine what he might be bringing to the Bill & Ted franchise (He looks a bit like William Sadler's Grim Reaper, so maybe he's playing the son of Death?).
Production on Bill & Ted Face The Music begins next month in New Orleans, with an August 21st, 2020 release date already on the calendar. Stay tuned for many, many more updates on this one between now and then (and do get caught up with Barry, if you haven't already).
